Welcome!
Thank you for visiting my website – I hope students, parents, and other visitors will find it helpful. I am an educator who works in Shenyang, China, which has been my home for the past eight years.
I first came to East Asia in 2009 to pursue my passion for international education. For three years, I served as the Head Instructor of the Chae Language Institute in South Korea. Wanting to improve my pedagogical skills, I returned to the United States to pursue a Master of Science in Education at the University of Pennsylvania. I specialized in intercultural education.
After completing my degree, I returned to Asia, becaming the Director of Teachers at Northeast Yucai School in Shenyang. In 2018, I became one of the founding principals of the Hübschmann Zhan International School in Shenyang, where I work today. I am also a PhD student at University College London, where my research focuses on the experience of Chinese students in the United States.
Please feel free to look around and drop me a note — I would be delighted to hear from you!
